TDS5000B Series Specifications and Performance Verification
b. Check the long-term sample rate and delay time accuracies against
limits:
H Note the number of major divisions that the rising edge of the
marker (or sine wave) is offset from the center vertical graticule line,
when it crosses the center horizontal graticule line.
H Multiply the number of divisions by 8 (by 10 for TDS5054BE) to
find the accuracy in ppm.
H CHECK that the accuracy is within ᐔ15 ppm.
H Enter the accuracy in ppm in the test record.
3. Disconnect the hookup: Disconnect the cable from the generator output at
the input connector of CH 1.

This procedure checks the sample rate portion of the Delta Time Measurement
Accuracy as listed in the Specifications section. The previous procedure, Check
Long-Term Sample Rate and Delay Time Accuracy, on page 2--39, verified the
“PPM” portion of the delta time specification.
1. Install the test hookup and preset the instrument controls:
a. Initialize the oscilloscope: Press the DEFAULT SETUP button.
b. Hook up the pulse generator as shown in Figure 2--18.
