Installation
Read Gamma Radiation Safety (p/n 717904) prior to installing the
equipment.
Tip Copies of the drawings referenced in this manual are provided in
Appendix C. ▲
General eneral
The Thermo Scientific DensityPRO+ integrated gamma density system
consists of three components:
1. One of the following transmitter models:
Thermo Scientific 1400A transmitter with non-metallic enclosure
(NEMA 4X)
Thermo Scientific 1400A transmitter with cast aluminum enclosure
(NEMA 7/ NEMA 4)
Thermo Scientific 1400S transmitter with stainless steel enclosure
(NEMA 4X/IP65)
2. One of the following detector models:
Thermo Scientific 9701 or 9702 ion chamber detector
Thermo Scientific 9719B or 9720B scintillation detector
3. One of the following source head models:
Thermo Scientific 5190, 5191, 5176, 5200, 5201, 5202, 5203,
5204, or 5211
Note In this manual, the generic use of “transmitter” or “transmitters”
implies the 1400A and 1400S transmitters. The specific model name will
be used only when necessary. ▲
Note The combination of the detector and the source head is referred to as
the “gauge head”.
