4.ASetupNoticewindowisdisplayed.PressEnteragaintocontinue.Theuserharddiskpasswordis
changed.
Note:IfyouleavetheEnterNewPasswordandConfirmNewPasswordfieldsblankandpressEnter
twice,theuserharddiskpasswordisremoved.
Tipsonusingtheharddiskpasswords
YoucansettheminimumlengthofaharddiskpasswordthroughtheSecuritymenu.
Ifyousetaharddiskpasswordofoversevencharacters,theharddiskdrivecanbeusedonlywitha
computerthatcanrecognizeaharddiskpasswordofoversevencharacters.Ifyoutheninstallthe
harddiskdriveinacomputerthatcannotrecognizeaharddiskpasswordthatcontainsmorethan
sevencharacters,youcannotaccessthedrive.
Recordyourpasswordandstoreitinasafeplace.Ifyouforgettheuserharddiskpassword,orbothuser
andmasterharddiskpasswords,Lenovocannotresetyourpasswordsorrecoverdatafromtheharddisk
drive.YoumusttakeyourcomputertoaLenovoreselleroramarketingrepresentativetohavethehard
diskdrivereplaced.Proofofpurchaseisrequired,andafeewillbechargedforpartsandservice.

Setapower-onpasswordaswellasaharddiskpasswordforyourinternalstoragedrive.Refertothe

IfaDiskEncryptionharddiskdriveandEncryptionsolid-statedriveisinstalledinyourcomputer,besure
toprotectthecontentsofyourcomputermemoryfromunauthorizedaccessbyuseofdriveencryption
software,suchasMicrosoftWindowsBitLocker
®
DriveEncryption,whichissupportedintheUltimateand
EnterpriseeditionsoftheWindows7operatingsystemandProfessionalandEnterpriseeditionsofthe
