Scratchingthesurfaceofthefingerprintreaderwithahard,pointedobject.
Scrapingthesurfaceofthefingerprintreaderwithyourfingernailoranythinghard.
Usingortouchingthefingerprintreaderwithadirtyfinger.
Ifyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,gentlycleanthesurfaceofthefingerprintreaderwithadry,
soft,lint-freecloth:
Thesurfaceofthefingerprintreaderisdirtyorstained.
Thesurfaceofthefingerprintreaderiswet.
Thefingerprintreaderoftenfailstoenrollorauthenticateyourfingerprint.

Besurenottomodifyyourcomputer
OnlyanauthorizedThinkPadrepairtechnicianshoulddisassembleandrepairyourcomputer.
Donotmodifyortapethelatchestokeepthedisplayopenorclosed.
Cleaningthecoverofyourcomputer
Occasionallycleanyourcomputerbydoingthefollowing:
1.Prepareamixtureofagentlekitchen-usedetergent.Thedetergentmustnotcontainabrasivepowderor
strongchemicalssuchasacidoralkaline.Usefivepartswatertoonepartdetergent.
2.Absorbthediluteddetergentintoasponge.
3.Squeezeexcessliquidfromthesponge.
4.Wipethecoverwiththesponge,usingacircularmotionandtakingcarenottoletanyexcessliquiddrip.
5.Wipethesurfacetoremovethedetergent.
6.Rinsethespongewithcleanrunningwater.
7.Wipethecoverwiththecleansponge.
8.Wipethesurfaceagainwithadry,soft,lint-freecloth.
9.Waitforthesurfacetodrycompletelyandremoveanyfibersfromthecloth.
