theaccelerometertoasmuchas6,000G'sofshock.
•Becarefulnottodropthesystemboardonabenchtopthathasahardsurface,suchasmetal,wood,orcomposite.
•Ifasystemboardisdropped,testitusingPC-DoctorforDOSifthesystemsupportsPC-DoctorforDOS,tomake
surethattheHDDActiveProtectionSystem™stillfunctions.
Note:IfthetestshowsthatHDDActiveProtectionSystemisnotfunctioning,besuretodocumentthedropina
rejectreport,andreplacethesystemboard.
•Avoidroughhandlingofanykind.
•Ateverypointintheprocess,besurenottodroporstackthesystemboard.
•Ifyouputasystemboarddown,besuretoputitonlyonapaddedsurfacesuchasanESDmatoracorrugated
conductivesurface.
IfthesystemsupportsPC-DoctorforDOS,afterreplacingthesystemboard,runPC-DoctorforDOStomakesurethat
HDDActiveProtectionSystemstillfunctions.Theprocedureisasfollows:
1.Placethecomputeronahorizontalsurface.
2.RunDiagnostics➙ThinkPadDevices➙HDDActiveProtectionT est.
Attention:Donotapplyphysicalshocktothecomputerwhilethetestisrunning.
