ThefollowingtableshowsthefunctionofeachcombinationofFnwithafunctionkey.

Fn+F1Reserved.
Fn+F2Lockthecomputer.
Fn+F3
Selectapowerplan(inWindowsXP ,powerscheme)thathasbeencreatedbyPowerManager,
oradjustthepowerlevelbyusingtheslidercontrol.Whenyoupressthiscombination,a
panelforselectingapowerplan(powerscheme)appears.
Notes:
Tousethiscombinationofthekeys,ThinkPadPMdevicedrivermusthavebeeninstalled
onthecomputer.
IfyouhaveloggedonwithanadministratoruserIDinWindowsXP ,andyoupressFn+F3,
thepanelforselectingapowerschemeappears.Ifyouhaveloggedonwithanotheruser
IDinWindowsXP ,andyoupressFn+F3,thepaneldoesnotappear.
Fn+F4
Putthecomputerinsleep(standby)mode.Toreturntonormaloperation,presstheFnkey
only,withoutpressingafunctionkey.
Notes:
Tousethiscombinationofthekeys,ThinkPadPMdevicedrivermusthavebeeninstalled
onthecomputer.
Ifyouwanttousethecombinationtoputthecomputerintohibernationmodeor
do-nothingmode(inWindowsXP ,shutthecomputerdownorshowthepanelforturning
offthecomputer),changethesettingsinthePowerManager.
Fn+F5
Enableordisablethebuilt-inwirelessnetworkingfeatures.IfyoupressFn+F5,alistofwireless
featuresisdisplayed.Youcanquicklychangethepowerstateofeachfeatureinthelist.
Notes:IfyouwanttouseFn+F5toenableordisablethewirelessfeatures,thefollowing
devicedriversmustbeinstalledonthecomputerbeforehand:
•PowerManagementdriver
•OnScreenDisplayUtility
•Wirelessdevicedrivers
Fn+F6
Changethecameraandaudiosettings.WhenyoupressFn+F6,thecameraandaudiosetting
windowisopenedandthecamerapreviewisturnedon.
Note:Thecamerasettingsareaonlyappearsifthecomputerhasanintegratedcamera.
Fn+F7Applyapresentationschemedirectly,withnoneedtostartPresentationDirector.
TodisablethisfunctionandusetheFn+F7keycombinationforswitchingadisplayoutput
location,startPresentationDirector,andchangethesettings.
Note:IfthecomputerisanWindows7model,itdoesnotsupportpresentationschemes,
howevertheFn+F7combinationmightstillbeusedtoswitchdisplayoutputlocation.
ForWindows7:
Switchbetweenthecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.Windowswillshowthese
displayoptions:
•Computerdisplayonly(LCD)
•Computerdisplayandexternalmonitor(sameimage)
•Computerdisplayandexternalmonitor(extendeddesktopfunction)
