The information displayed includes Squitter Type (Airborne), Altitude in Feet,
Altitude Source (Barometric or GNSS), squitter period and encoded latitude and
longitude.
NOTE
To set the Lat & Lon positional information into the TR-220, proceed as follows.
Turn the test set ON with the UUT FUNCTION switch in the set up position.
Use the AUTO/TEST/MANUAL switch to scroll the display to the Lat/Lon screen
Use the TO/START-FROM/STOP switch to move the > cursor to the field which
needs to be set and then use the UP/FWD-DOWN/REV switch to change the
values to those desired.
If the Transponder is on the Surface (Ground) and is transmitting a BDS 0,6
Extended Squitter Surface Position Report, the following screen will be
displayed. The information displayed includes Squitter Type (Surface),
Movement in knots, Ground Track (True) in Degrees, squitter period, and
encoded latitude and longitude. The proper decoding of the Surface Position
requires that the test set latitude and longitude (HOME POSITION) is set to
current position.
6. Press the AUTO/TEST/MANUAL switch to select the next screen:

For certain TR-220 functions, you must store the latitude/longitude of the
test set in the SETUP FUNCTION. This is called the HOME POSITION.
The latitude/longitude of the Test Set can be entered manually or
automatically stored using the latitude/longitude information being
transmitted by the aircraft under test. When you have the above screen
displayed, press the IDENT switch, wait for the test set prompt and press
the AUTO_TEST_MANUAL switch to MANUAL. This will store the latitude
and longitude information in the test set HOME POSITION.
