9. Press the AUTO/TEST/MANUAL switch to select the next screen:
The TR-220 will display the encoded latitude and longitude information with more
resolution. The display will indicate whether the information is from an Airborne
Squitter (A) or Surface Position Squitter (G).
2.18.2 ADS-B RX
The TR-220 ADS-B RX Function allows transmission of the following information:
• Mode S Extended Squitter (DF17/DF18), Airborne or Surface Position, for 4
intruder aircraft.
• Traffic Information System (TIS) for 4 intruder aircraft
ADS-B Intruder simulations DF17/DF18 can be accessed as follows:
1. Turn the UUT FUNCTION switch to ADS-B RX and use the AUTO/TEST/
MANUAL switch to select the following screen.
2. Set the ATCRBS/AIR-MODE S/GND Intruder switch to Airborne or Ground.
3. Press the IDENT switch to select DF17 or DF18 target type.
4. Set a Mode S Address for the first intruder by selecting SETUP using the UUT
FUNCTION and using the AUTO/TEST/MANUAL switch to select Mode S
Address (The Mode S address for the other 3 targets will be incremented by 1).
The TR-220 will transmit the DF17 or DF18 information for 4 intruder aircraft that
have the following parameters when AIRBORNE intruder is selected:
a. Altitude = 10,000 feet
b. Distance = 10 miles from the test set HOME POSITION
c. Velocity = 250 knots
d. Target locations are NE, SE, SW, and NW of the test set HOME
POSITION
e. The Flight ID for the targets are TEL1, TEL2, TEL3, and TEL4
