Starting the Engine
Engine exhaust fumes contain poisonous carbon monoxide, which can cause serious illness and death. Never run the engine in an
enclosed area such as a closed building without proper ventilation.
Do not press the throttle pedal while starting the engine.
Operating the vehicle immediately after starting could cause engine damage. Allow the engine to warm up before operating the vehicle.
Never press the throttle pedal down all the way when in neutral; it may cause severe damage to the transmission.
Do not operate the starter continuously for more than ve seconds or the starter will overheat and the battery power will drop temporarily. Wait
at least ve seconds between each operation of the starter to allow it to cool and to enable battery power recovery.
Do not turn the ignition switch key to the “START” position while the engine is running. Damage to the starter can result.
