Brake Fluid
Routine inspections are recommended to keep the brake system in good operating condition.
ChangethebrakeuidattheintervalsoutlinedinthePeriodicMaintenanceChart.Thebrakeuidshouldalsobechangedifitbecomes
contaminated,iftheuidlevelisbelowtheminimum,orifthetypeandbrandoftheuidinthereservoirareunknown.
1.
Position the vehicle on a level surface.
2.
Viewthebrakeuidlevelatthereservoirunderthehood(1).Thelevelshouldbeabout1/2in.(12.5mm)fromthetopofthereservoir.
3.
Iftheuidlevelislower,checkforleakageinthesystemandaddbrakeuid.
4.
Applythebrakeforcefullyforafewsecondsandcheckforuidleakagearoundthettings.
Brake Fluid Container

Afteropeningabottleofbrakeuid,alwaysdiscardanyunusedportion.Neverstoreoruseapartialbottleofbrakeuid.Brakeuid
absorbs moisture from the air.
•
Nevermixdifferenttypesofbrakeuid.FluidsusedshouldbeDOT4.
•
Moisture may cause brake fade or failure, and the possibility of accident or severe injury.
