Forreeloperation,theleverhas2positions:Engageand
Disengage.Movethetopofthelevertotheleft,thenforward
toengagethereelandbeginmowing.Pushthelevertothe
righttodisengagethereelandcontinueforwardmotionor
pullbackonittodisengageboththereelandthetraction
drive.
Note:Ifyoureleasetheoperator-presencecontrol,thelever
willreturntoNeutralandthemachinewillstop.
AutomaticMotorBrake
Themachineisequippedwithanautomaticmotorbrakethat
preventsitfromrollingwhenthemachineisstopped.The
motorbrakeisonwheneverthetractiondriveisinneutral
oryoumovethespeedcontroltothezerospeedposition,
exceptinthefollowingcircumstances:
•Whenthemachineisturnedoff,usetheparkingbrake
latchtosecurethemachinewhenitisturnedoff.
•Whenthemachineisstartedwiththekeyswitch,the
motorbrakeisinitiallydisengaged.Afterdrivingthe
machine,themotorbrakewillfunctionnormally.
•Ifyoumovethespeedcontroltozerospeedwhilethe
reelsareengaged(i.e.,whilemowing),thebrakewillnot
engage.Thisfeatureallowsyoutomovetothezero
positionwhilemowingandpullthemachinerearward
tomakecoursecorrections.
Kickstand
Thekickstand(Figure27)ismountedontotherearofthe
machineandisusedtoraisetherearofthemachinefor
installationorremovalofthetransportwheelsandtokeep
themachinefromfallingontothehandlewhenyouremove
thereel.
•Tousethekickstandtoinstallthetransportwheels,lower
ittothegroundandstepdownonthekickstandloop
whilepullingupandbackonthelowercentermachine
handle(Figure26).
Important:Onlyputfootpressuredownonthe
kickstandloop,andonlyusethelowercenter
machinehandletoraisetheunit.Attemptingtoraise
themachineontothekickstandbyanyothermeans
cancauseinjury.
