MowingWhenGrassisDry
Moweitherinthelatemorningtoavoidthedew,whichcauses
grassclumping,orinlateafternoontoavoidthedamage
thatcanbecausedbydirectsunlightonthesensitive,freshly
mowedgrass.
SelectingtheProperHeightofCut
Removeapproximately25mm(1inch)ornomorethan1/3
ofthegrassbladewhencutting.Inexceptionallylushand
densegrass,youmayhavetoraisetheheightofcuttothe
nextsetting.
MowingatProperIntervals
Undermostnormalconditionsyouwillneedtomow
approximatelyevery4to5days.Butremember,grassgrows
atdifferentratesatdifferenttimes.Thismeansthatinorder
tomaintainthesameheightofcut,whichisagoodpractice,
youwillneedtocutmorefrequentlyinearlyspring;asthe
grassgrowthrateslowsinmidsummer,cutonlyevery8to10
days.Ifyouareunabletomowforanextendedperioddue
toweatherconditionsorotherreasons,mowrstwiththe
heightofcutatahighlevel;thenmowagain2to3dayslater
withalowerheightsetting.
MowingwithSharpBlades
Asharpbladecutscleanlyandwithouttearingorshredding
thegrassbladeslikeadullblade.Tearingandshredding
causesthegrasstoturnbrownattheedgeswhichimpairs
growthandincreasessusceptibilitytodiseases.
ChangingMowingPatterns
Changemowingpatternsoftentominimizeafter-cut
appearanceissuesinducedbyrepetitiveoperationinonlyone
direction.
AdjustingtheCounterbalance
Thecounterbalancesystemmaintainshydraulicbackpressure
onthedeckliftcylinders.Thiscounterbalancepressure
transferscuttingdeckweighttothemower'sdrivewheels
toimprovetraction.Thecounterbalancepressurehasbeen
factorysettoanoptimalbalanceofafter-cutappearanceand
tractioncapabilityinmostturfconditions.Decreasingthe
counterbalancesettingcanproduceamorestablecutting
deck,butcandecreasethetractioncapability.Increasingthe
counterbalancesettingcanincreasethetractioncapability,
