boltto115–149N-m(85–110ft-lb).
CheckingtheBladeStoppingTime
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Thebladesofthecuttingdeckshouldcometoacomplete
stopinapproximately5secondsafteryoushutdownthe
cuttingdeckengagementswitch.
Note:Makesurethedecksareloweredontoacleansection
ofturforhardsurfacetoavoidthrowndustanddebris.
Toverifythisstoppingtime,haveasecondpersonstandback
fromthedeckatleast6m(20feet)andwatchtheblades
ononeofthecuttingdecks.Havetheoperatorshutthe
cuttingdecksdownandrecordthetimeittakesfortheblades
tocometoacompletestop.Ifthistimeisgreaterthan7
seconds,thebrakingvalveneedsadjustment.CallyourToro
Distributorforassistanceinmakingthisadjustment.
ServicingtheFrontRoller
Inspectthefrontrollerforwear,excesswobble,orbinding.
Serviceorreplacetherollerorcomponentsifanyofthese
conditionsexist.
DisassemblingtheFrontRoller
1.Removetherollermountingbolt(Figure65).
2.Insertapunchthroughtheendoftherollerhousing
anddrivetheoppositebearingoutbyalternatingtaps
totheoppositesideofinnerbearingrace.Thereshould
bea1.5mm(0.060inch)lipofinnerraceexposed.

1.Presstherstbearingintotherollerhousing(Figure
65).Pressontheouterraceonlyorequallyonthe
innerandouterrace.
2.Insertthespacer(Figure65).
3.Pressthesecondbearingintotherollerhousing(Figure
65)pressingequallyontheinnerandouterraceuntil
theinnerracecomesincontactwiththespacer.
4.Installtherollerassemblyintothedeckframe.
Important:Securingtherollerassemblywitha
gaplargerthan1.5mm(0.060inch)createsaside
loadonthebearingandcanleadtopremature
bearingfailure
5.Verifythatthereisnomorethana1.5mm(0.060inch)
gapbetweenrollerassemblyandtherollermount
bracketsofthedeckframe.Ifthereisagapover1.5
mm(0.060inch),installenough5/8inchdiameter
washerstotakeuptheslop.
6.Securethemountingboltto108N-m(80ft-lb).
