PreparingtheMachine
WARNING
Whileyouaremaintainingoradjustingthe
machine,someonecouldstarttheengine.
Accidentallystartingtheenginecould
seriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.
Removethekeyfromtheignition,engage
parkingbrake,andpullthewire(s)offthe
sparkplug(s)beforeyoudoanymaintenance.
Alsopushthewire(s)asidesoitdoesnot
accidentallycontactthesparkplug(s).
Performthefollowingbeforeservicing,cleaning,or
makinganyadjustmentstothemachine.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Shutthewide-distributionimpeller-gateforthe
spreaderandshutoffthesprayer-pumpswitch.
3.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
4.Engagetheparkingbrake.
5.Waitforallmovingpartstostopallowtheengine
tocoolbeforeservicing,storing,ormaking
repairs.
6.Disconnectthespark-plugwire(Figure69).
