Checkingthe
Reel-to-BedknifeContact
Eachdaybeforeoperatingthemachine,checkthe
reel-to-bedknifecontact,regardlessifthequalityofcut
hadpreviouslybeenacceptable.Theremustbelight
contactacrossthefulllengthofthereelandbedknife;
refertoAdjustingtheReeltoBedknifeintheCutting
UnitOperator’sManual.
Breaking-intheMachine
RefertotheEngineManualsuppliedwiththe
machineforoilchangeandmaintenanceprocedures
recommendedduringthebreak-inperiod.
Only8hoursofmowingoperationisrequiredforthe
break-inperiod.
Sincethersthoursofoperationarecriticaltofuture
dependabilityofthemachine,monitoritsfunctionsand
performancecloselysothatminordifculties,which
couldleadtomajorproblems,arenotedandcanbe
corrected.Inspectthemachinefrequentlyduring
break-inforsignsofoilleakage,loosefasteners,or
anyothermalfunction.
Toensureoptimumperformanceofthebrakesystem,
burnish(break-in)thebrakesbeforeusingthe
machine.T oburnishthebrakes,rmlyapplythe
brakesanddrivethemachineatmowingspeed
untilthebrakesarehot,asindicatedbytheirsmell.
Anadjustmenttothebrakesmayberequiredafter
break-in;refertoAdjustingtheBrakes.
StartingandStoppingthe
Machine
Note:Inspecttheareasbeneaththemowerstobe
certaintheyareclearofdebris.
StartingtheMachine
Important:Donotuseetherorothertypesof
startinguid.
1.Besuretheparkingbrakeisset,theraise/lower
mowcontrolisdisengaged,andthefunctional
controlisintheneutralposition.
2.Removeyourfootfromthetractionpedaland
makesurethepedalisintheneutralposition.
3.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition.
4.Insertthekeyintotheswitchandrotateitto
On.HolditintheOnpositionuntiltheglow
plugindicatorlightgoesoff(approximately6
seconds).
5.ImmediatelyturntheignitionkeytotheStart
position.Releasethekeywhentheengine
startsandallowittomovetotheOnposition.
MovethethrottlecontroltoSlow.
Important:Topreventoverheatingofthe
startermotor,donotengagethestarter
