1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lower
thecuttingunits,stoptheengine,engagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Removetheplasticcovertotheleftsideofthe
seat.
3.Makeinitialreeltobedknifeadjustments
appropriateforbacklappingonallcuttingunits
whicharetobebacklapped;refertotheCutting
UnitOperator’sManual.
DANGER
Changingtheenginespeedwhile
backlappingmaycausethereelstostall.
•Neverchangetheenginespeedwhile
backlapping.
•Onlybacklapatidleenginespeed.
4.Starttheengineandrunatlowidlespeed.

position,movetheRaise/LowerMowcontrol
forwardtostartthebacklappingoperationonthe
designatedreels.

brush.Neveruseashorthandledbrush.
9.Ifthereelsstallorbecomeerraticwhile
backlapping,selectahigherreelspeedsetting
untilthespeedstabilizes,thenreturnthereel
speedtosetting1ortoyourdesiredspeed.
10.Tomakeanadjustmenttothecuttingunitswhile
backlapping,turnthereelsoffbymovingthe
Raise/LowerMowcontrolrearwardandstopthe
engine.Aftercompletingadjustments,repeat
steps4through8.
11.Repeattheprocedureforallcuttingunitsyou
wanttobacklap.
12.Whennished,returnthebacklapleverstothe
Forward(F)position,replacethecover,and
washalllappingcompoundoffofthecutting
units.Adjustcuttingunitreeltobedknifeas
needed.Movethecuttingunitreelspeedcontrol
tothedesiredmowingposition.
Important:Ifthebacklapleverisnot
returnedtotheForward(F)positionafter
backlapping,thecuttingunitswillnotraise
orfunctionproperly.
