Ifcorrosionoccursattheterminals,
disconnectthecables,negative(-)cable
rst,andscrapetheclampsandterminals
separately.Reconnectthecables,positive
(+)cablerst,andcoattheterminalswith
petroleumjelly.
•Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)
batterycablebeforedisconnectingthe
positive(red)cable.
•Alwaysconnectthepositive(red)battery
cablebeforeconnectingthenegative
(black)cable.
StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredmorethan30days,
removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstore
itontheshelfonthemachine.Leavethecables
disconnectedifitisstoredonthemachine.Store
thebatteryinacoolatmospheretoavoidquick
deteriorationofthechargeinthebattery.Toprevent
thebatteryfromfreezing,makesureitisfullycharged.
Thespecicgravityofafullychargedbatteryis
1.265–1.299.
