1.8to3m(6to10ft)aheadofthemachine
totheedgeoftheuncutportionofthegreen
(Figure39).
Somenditusefultoincludetheouteredge
ofthesteeringwheelaspartofthesightline;
i.e.keepthesteeringwheeledgealignedwith
apointthatisalwayskeptthesamedistance
awayfromthefrontofthemachine(Figure39).

5.Cutdownonoperatingtimeandeaselineup
forthenextpassbymomentarilyturningthe
machineintheoppositedirection,thenturningin
thedirectionoftheuncutportion;i.e.,ifintending
toturnright,rstswingslightlyleft,thenright.
Note:Thiswillassistingettingthemachine
morequicklyalignedforthenextpass.
Followthesameprocedureforturninginthe
oppositedirection.Itisagoodpracticetotryto
makeasshortofaturnaspossible.However,
turninawiderarcduringwarmerweatherto
minimizethepossibilityofbruisingtheturf.
Important:Themachineshouldneverbe
stoppedonagreenwiththecuttingunitreels
operatingasdamagetotheturfmayresult.
Stoppingonawetgreenwiththemachine
mayleavemarksorindentationsfromthe
wheels.
6.Finishcuttingthegreenbymowingtheouter
peripheryandreplacetheags.
Note:Besuretochangethedirectionof
cuttingfromthepreviousmowing.Alwayskeep
weatherandturfconditionsinmindandbesure
tochangethedirectionofmowingfromthe
previouscutting.
Note:Attheendoftheperipherycut,
momentarilypullbackontheraise/lowermow
levertoshutthereelsoffwithoutraisingthem.
Continuemovingforwarduntilthereelstops
rotating,then,driveoffthegreenandraisethe
reels(Thiswillhelppreventdribblinggrassonto
thegreenwhileraisingthereels).
7.Emptythegrassbasketsofallclippingsbefore
transportingtothenextgreen.
Note:Heavywetclippingsplaceanundue
strainonthebasketsandwilladdunnecessary
weighttothemachine,therebyincreasingthe
loadontheengine,hydraulicsystem,brakes,
etc.
TransportingtheMachine
Makesurethecuttingunitsareinthefullupposition.
Movethefunctionalcontrollevertothetransport
position.Usethebrakestoslowthemachinewhile
goingdownsteephillstoavoidlossofcontrol.Always
approachroughareasatareducedspeedandcross
severeundulationscarefully.Familiarizeyourselfwith
thewidthofthemachine.Donotattempttopass
betweenobjectsthatareclosetogethersothatcostly
damageanddowntimecanbeprevented.
CleaningandInspecting
theMachine
Atthecompletionofthemowingoperation,thoroughly
washthemachinewithagardenhosewithout
anozzlesoexcessivewaterpressurewillnot
causecontaminationanddamagetosealsand
bearings.Neverwashawarmengineorelectrical
connectionswithwater.
Aftercleaning,itisrecommendedthemachine
beinspectedforpossiblehydraulicuidleaks
