RemovingtheSteeringCylinder(2-WheelDrive)
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdeck(orimplement),shut
offtheengine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page5–77).
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page5–6).
3.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulichosesthatareconnectedto
thettingsonthesteeringcylinder.
4.Cleanthehydraulichoseendsbeforeyoudisconnectthehosesfromthe
steeringcylinder.
5.Disconnectthehydraulichosesfromthesteeringcylinder.
6.Installcapsorplugsonthedisconnectedhosesandttingstoprevent
contamination.
7.Removethebolts(items1and8inFigure97)and2locknutsthatsecure
thesteeringcylindertothemachine.
