StartingtheEngine
Important:Bleedthefuelsystemifanyofthe
followinghaveoccurred:
Theenginehasshutoffduetolackoffuel.
Maintenancehasbeenperformeduponthefuel
systemcomponents.
1.Removeyourfootfromthetractionpedaland
ensurethatitisinNEUTRAL.Ensurethatthe
parkingbrakeisengaged.
2.Movethethrottlecontroltothelowidleposition.
3.TurntheignitionkeytotheRUNposition.The
glowindicatorshouldlight.
4.Whentheglowindicatordims,turntheignition
keytotheSTARTposition.
Important:Donotrunthestartermotor
morethan15secondsatatimeorpremature
starterfailuremayresult.Iftheenginefails
tostartafter15seconds,turnthekeyto
theOFFposition,checkthecontrolsand
procedures,wait15additionalseconds,and
repeatthestartingprocedure.
5.Releasethekeyimmediatelywhentheengine
startsandallowittoreturntotheRUNposition.
6.Movethethrottlecontroltothedesiredposition.
Whenthetemperatureislessthan-7°C(20°F),
thestartermotorcanberunfor30secondson
then60secondsofffor2attempts.
Important:Shutofftheengineandallowthe
enginetocoolbeforeyoucheckforoilleaks,
looseparts,orothermalfunctions.
ShuttingOfftheEngine
Important:Allowtheenginetoidlefor5minutes
beforeshuttingitoffafterafull-loadoperation.
Thisallowstheturbochargertocooldownbefore
shuttingofftheengine.Failuretodosomaylead
toturbochargertrouble.
Note:Lowerthemowerdeckstotheground
whenevermachineisparked.Thisrelievesthe
hydraulicloadfromthesystem,preventswearon
systemparts,andalsopreventsaccidentallowering
ofthemowerdecks.
1.MovethethrottlecontrolbackwardtotheSLOW
position.
2.MovethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.
4.RotatetheignitionkeytotheOFFposition.
5.Removethekeyfromtheswitchtoprevent
accidentalstarting.

SmartPowerpreventsboggingdowninheavyturf
byautomaticallycontrollingthemachinespeed
andoptimizingcuttingperformance.Theoperator
cansimplysetamaximumgroundspeedthatis
comfortableandmowwithouthavingtomanually
reducethetractionspeedwhenmowinginheavy
conditions.
ReversingFanOperation
Thefanspeediscontrolledbythehydraulic-uid
temperatureandengine-coolanttemperature.A
reversecycleisautomaticallyinitiatedwheneitherthe
enginecoolantorhydraulic-uidtemperaturereaches
acertainpoint.Thisreversalhelpsblowdebrisoffthe
rearscreenandlowertheengineandhydraulic-uid
temperatures.Bysimultaneouslypressingtheright
andleftbuttonsontheInfoCenter,thefancompletes
amanually-initiatedreversecycle.Reversethefan
manuallypriortoleavingtheworkarea,enteringthe
shop,orstoragearea.
UnderstandingAutoIdle
Themachineisequippedwithautoidle,which
automaticallyidlestheenginewhenallthefollowing
functionsarenotused,forapre-determinedtime,
previouslysetintheInfoCenter.
ThetractionpedalisreturnedtotheNEUTRAL
position.
ThePTOisdisengaged.
Noneoftheliftswitchesareactivated.
Whenanyoftheabovefunctionsareinitiated,
themachineautomaticallyreturnstotheprevious
throttleposition.
