AdjustingtheCounterbalance
Pressure
Thecounterbalancetestportisusedtotestthe
pressureinthecounterbalancecircuit(Figure106).
Therecommendedcounterbalancepressureis
2241kPa(325psi).Toadjustthecounterbalance
pressure,loosenthelocknut,rotatetheadjusting
screw(Figure106)clockwisetoincreasethepressure
orcounterclockwisetodecreasethepressure,and
tightenthelocknut.Theenginemustberunningand
thedeckloweredandintheoatpositiontocheck
thepressure.
Note:Thecasterwheelsofall3mowerdecks
shouldremainonthegroundwhenadjustingthe
counterbalanceandwithcounterbalanceapplied.

Note:Althoughnotneededfornormalmaintenance
procedures,youcanpivot(tilt)thefrontmowerdeck
toanuprightposition.T otiltthemowerdeck,dothe
following.
1.Raisethefrontmowerdeckslightlyofftheoor,
engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,
andremovethekeyfromtheignitionswitch.
2.Removethehairpincotterandclevispin
securingthedeck-transportlatchtothelatch
plateandpivotthelatchtowardtherearofthe
deck.
3.Removethehairpincotterandclevispin
securingtheheight-of-cutchainstotherearof
themowerdeck.
4.Starttheengine,slowlyraisethefrontmower
deck,shutofftheengine,andremovethekey
fromtheignition.
5.Graspthefrontofthemowerdeckandliftitto
anuprightposition.
6.Holdthemowerdeckupright,tthecableend
overthepinonthemowerdeckliftarm,and
secureitwiththehairpincotter(Figure107).
