Thediesel-particulatelter(DPF)removessootfromtheengineexhaust.
TheDPFregenerationprocessusesheatfromtheengineexhaustthatisincreasedbythecatalysttoreduce
accumulatedsootintoash.
TokeeptheDPFclean,rememberthefollowing:
RuntheengineatfullenginespeedwhenpossibletopromoteDPFself-cleaning.
Important:LeavingthemachineinInchModeorSetupMode(i.e.,atalowerenginespeed)disables
theself-cleaningprocessoftheDPF .LeavingthemachineineithermodecanplugtheDPFand
initiateaparkedregeneration.
Usethecorrectengineoil.
Minimizetheamountoftimethatyouidletheengine.
Useonlyultralowsulfurdieselfuel.
OperateandmaintainyourmachinewiththefunctionoftheDPFinmind.Engineunderloadgenerallyproduces
adequateexhausttemperatureforDPFregeneration.
Important:Minimizetheamountoftimethatyouidletheengineoroperatetheengineatlow-engine
speedtohelpreducetheaccumulationofsootintheDPF.
CAUTION
Theexhausttemperatureishot(approximately600°C(1,112°F)duringDPFregeneration.Hot
exhaustgascanharmyouorotherpeople.
Donotoperatetheengineinanenclosedarea.
Ensurethattherearenoammablematerialsaroundtheexhaustsystem.
Ensurethatthehotexhaustgasdoesnotcontactsurfacesthatmaybedamagedbyheat.
Donottouchahotexhaustsystemcomponent.
Donotstandnearoraroundtheexhaustpipeofthemachine.
