ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;
however,theoillevelmustbecheckedbeforeand
aftertheengineisrststarted.
Youcanchecktheoilwithoutraisingthehoodby
reachingthroughtheengineshieldontherightsideof
themachine(Figure79)andpullingoutthedipstick
fromtheengine.Ifyoumustaddadditionalengineoil,
youmustraisethehood;refertoRaisingtheHood
(page57).

dipstick,theengineoilmaybedilutedwithfuel;

engineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedfortheday.
Ifithasalreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrainback
downtothesumpforatleast10minutesbefore
checking.IftheoillevelisatorbelowtheAddmark
onthedipstick,addoiltobringtheoilleveltotheFull
mark.Donotoverlltheenginewithoil.
Important:Keeptheengine-oillevelbetweenthe
upperandlowerlimitsonthedipstick;theengine
mayfailifyourunitwithtoomuchortoolittleoil.
