Beforeusingtheaerator,ndaclearareaandpractice
usingthemachine.Operatethetractionunitatthe
recommendedgearsettingsandPTOdrivespeeds
andbecomethoroughlyfamiliarwiththemachine
handling.Practicestarting,stopping,raising,and
loweringtheaerator;engaginganddisengagingthe
PTOdrive;andaligningthemachinewithprevious
passes.Apracticesessionincreasescondencein
theperformanceoftheaeratorandhelpsensureuse
ofproperoperatingtechniqueswhenoperatingthe
machine.
Iftherearesprinklerheads,electricalor
communicationlines,orotherobstructionsatthejob
site,marktheseitemstoensurethattheyarenot
damaged.
CAUTION
Movingpartscancausepersonalinjury.
Toavoidpersonalinjury,donotleavethe
operatorsseatwithoutrstdisengaging
thePTOdrive,engagingtheparkingbrake,
andshuttingofftheengine.Donotperform
aeratorrepairswithoutrstloweringthe

BeforeAerating
Locateandmarkallelectricalorcommunicationlines,
irrigationcomponents,andanyotherunderground
hazards.
Inspecttheareaofoperationforhazardsthatcould
damagethemachineandremovethem,ifpossible,
orplanhowtoavoidthem.Carryreplacementtines,
springwires,springsandtoolsincasetinesare
damagedduetocontactwithforeignmaterials.
Important:Donotoperatetheaeratorinreverse
orwhenitisintheraisedposition.

Theowner/operatorcanpreventandisresponsible
foraccidentsthatmaycausepersonalinjuryor
propertydamage.
Wearappropriateclothing,includingeye
protection;longpants;substantial,slip-resistant
footwear;andhearingprotection.Tiebacklong
hairanddonotwearlooseclothingorloose
jewelry.
Useyourfullattentionwhileoperatingthe
machine.Donotengageinanyactivitythat
causesdistractions;otherwise,injuryorproperty
damagemayoccur.
Donotoperatethemachinewhentired,ill,or
undertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
Nevercarrypassengersonthemachineandkeep
bystandersandpetsawayfromthemachine
duringoperation.
Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilitytoavoid
holesorhiddenhazards.
Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromthetines.
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface;engagethe
parkingbrake;shutofftheengine;removethekey;

Stopthemachine,shutofftheengine,waitfor
allmovingpartstostop,andinspectthetines
afterstrikinganobjectorifthereisanabnormal

Theaeratorisheavy.Whenattachedtoatraction
unitandintheraisedposition,itsweightaffects
stability,brakingandsteering.Exercisecaution
whentransportingbetweenworkingareas.
Alwaysmaintainpropertractionunittirepressure.
Ensurethatyoucomplywithallregulationsbefore
transportingequipmentonthepublicroadsand
highways.Makesurethatallrequiredreectors
andlightsareinplaceandarecleanandvisibleby
overtakingandoncomingtrafc.
