In addition to Return and Outdoor Reset, the MP
provides a menu item for the operator to select a
Constant Return Reset. Constant Return Reset will reset
the leaving water temperature set point so as to provide
a constant entering water temperature. The Constant
eturn
eset equation is the same as the
eturn
eset
equation except on selection of Constant Return Reset,
the MP will automaticall
set Ratio, Start Reset, and
Maximum Reset to the
ollowing.
RATIO = 100
START RESET = Design Delta Temp
MAXIMUM RESET = Desi
n Delta Temp.
The equation for Constant Return is then as follows:
CWS’ = CWS + 100% (Design Delta Temp. - (TWE - TWL))
and CW
’ >
r = CW
and CW
’ - CW
<
r = Maximum Reset
When any ty
e of CWR is enabled, the MP will ste
the Active CWS toward the desired CWS’
based on
the above e
uations and setu
arameters
at a rate
of 1 de
ree F every 5 minutes until the Active CW
equals the desired CW
’. This applies when the chiller
is runnin
.
When the chiller is not running, CW
is reset
immediately
within one minute
for Return Reset and at
a rate of 1 de
ree F every 5 minutes for
utdoor Reset.
The chiller will start at the Differential t
tart value
above a fully reset CW
or CW
’ for both Return and
Outdoor Reset.

LonTalk™ Interface
LCI-C
UC800 provides an optional LonTalk™ Communication
Interface (LCI-C) between the chiller and a Buildin
Automation System
BAS
. An LCI-C LLID shall be used
to provide “
ateway” functionality between a LonTalk
compatible device and the Chiller. The inputs/outputs
include both mandatory and o
tional network variables
as established by the LonMark Functional Chiller Pro
le

BACnet Protocol
The Building Automation and Control Network (BACnet
nd ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135-2004) protocol is a
standard that allows building automation systems or
com
onents from different manufacturers to share
n
ormation and control
unctions. BACnet provides
buildin
owners the capability to connect various
ypes of building control systems or subsystems
ogether
or a variety o
reasons. In addition, multiple
vendors can use this protocol to share information for
onitoring and supervisory control between systems
nd devices in a multi-vendor interconnected s
stem.
The BACnet protocol identifi es standard objects

ob

lication services that are used to access data and
anipulate these o

Modbus RTU Protocol
Modicon Communication Bus (Modbus) is an application
layer-messa
in
protocol that, like BACnet, provides
client/server communication
etween devices over
variety of networks. Durin
communications on a
Modbus RTU network, the
rotocol determines how
each controller will
now its device address, recognize
message addressed to its device, determine what
ction to take, and extract any data or other information
contained in the message.
