Protecon
External Television Antenna Grounding
If an outside antenna, satellite dish or cable system is to be connected to the TV, make sure that the
antenna or cable system is electrically grounded to provide some protecon against voltage surges
and stac charges.
Arcle 810 of the Naonal Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPSA 70, provides informaon with regard to the
proper grounding of the mast and supporng structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna
discharge unit, size of the grounding conductors, locaon of antenna discharge unit, connecon to
grounding electrodes, and requirements of the grounding electrodes.
Lightning Protecon
For added protecon of the TV during a lightning storm of when it is le unaended or unused for
long periods of me, unplug the TV from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or Cable system.
Power Lines
Do not locate the antenna near overhead lights or power circuits or where it could fall into such
power lines or circuits.
Advisory of the Digital TV (DTV) Transion
The naonwide switch to digital television broadcasng was completed on June 12, 2009. Your
TV Ears HDTV is capable of receiving Digital Broadcasts and no Digital Converter Box is required.
