Machine Operation
Machine operation is described in the Radial 8 Machine Operation Guide,
which is structured as follows.
• Machine Operation: This module describes the procedures used to
operate the machine from power on to power off.
• Error Recovery: This module describes how to recover when the
machine stops.
• 5428A Elevator Error Recovery: This module describes how to
recover from errors that occur on the model 5428A elevators.
• Event Messages: This module describes the events that are
displayed in the Current Messages portion of the Machine Status
window.
Dry Cycle
Dry cycling the machine means to run the machine without inserting
components. IM-UPS ignores continuity.
There are 2 ways to dry cycle the machine:
• Deactivate the sequencer so the chain does not move. This just
cycles the insertion head.
• Remove components from the dispense heads and leave the
sequencer activated. This cycles the insertion head, sequencer chain,
and dispense heads.
To dry cycle the machine:
1. Push the E-Stop switch (palm-down the machine).
2. Remove any component from the insertion head.
3. From the IM-UPS screen, select the Product Changeover icon.
4. Select: Load Product.
