Why is my UP 3D Printer printing in thin air?
    • Z
      zfrederickAug 13, 2025
If your UP 3D printer is printing in thin air, not extruding material, or only completing half a model, check the following: ensure the filament roll doesn't have any knots by unspooling about 10 meters while maintaining tension. Make sure the extruder can pull the filament without stress. Check if the platform is level, as a platform that is not level or a nozzle too close to the platform can cause blockages. Warping can also cause blockages. Check for plastic residue around the drive gear, which can cause feed slippage and a clicking sound. If your environment is dusty, wipe the filament with a small piece of foam before it enters the head. Note that ABS residue may also be a factor.

How to fix 'Cannot communicate with printer' error on UP Plus 2?
    • J
      Joel HernandezAug 28, 2025
If your UP 3D printer isn't communicating, ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your PC. Try unplugging and then plugging the USB cable back in. Reset the printer by powering it off and then on again. Restart your PC. Verify in the Device Manager (Windows) that the printer driver is correctly installed. Test with a different USB cable and PC. If you're using a USB hub, try connecting without it.
