Why is my UP 3D Printer printing in thin air?

If your UP 3D printer is printing in thin air, not extruding material, or only completing half a model, check the following: ensure the filament roll doesn't have any knots by unspooling about 10 meters while maintaining tension. Make sure the extruder can pull the filament without stress. Check if the platform is level, as a platform that is not level or a nozzle too close to the platform can cause blockages. Warping can also cause blockages. Check for plastic residue around the drive gear, which can cause feed slippage and a clicking sound. If your environment is dusty, wipe the filament with a small piece of foam before it enters the head. Note that ABS residue may also be a factor.
