Defrost setting parameters are wrong
Bad connections, defective relay / fuse / solenoid
Reefer is on, blowing warm air
Compressor does not start / defective compressor
Compressor is working, not enough refrigerant
Compressor is working, not enough refrigerant flow
Compressor is working, hot gas valve is open, condenser pressure
control valve (CPCV) is not closed
Reefer is on, cooling is
insufficient
Ambient temperature exceeds maximum operating temperature
(43°C/110F)
Poor thermal insulation / too many door openings / big thermal inertia
Compressor is going on and off
Frosted, plugged evaporator / defective evaporator fan
Defective expansion valve
Check air temperature sensor resistance, plug, and continuity to controller
Check evaporator temperature sensor resistance, plug, and continuity to controller
Check ambient temperature sensor resistance, plug, and continuity to controller
Check that the condenser fan(s) is on and the air flow is sufficient
Check that the condenser coil is not plugged by dirt / debris
Check high pressure switch and continuity to controller
Check that the receiver-drier is not plugged
Check that the evaporator fan(s) is on and the air flow is sufficient
Check that the evaporator core is not plugged by dirt, frost, or block of ice
Check the TXV (thermostatic expansion valve) inside the evaporator box
Check charging system including charging cable connections and main fuse at the truck battery
