2 x 87° balanced flue bends are taken into consideration for the max-
imum flue lengths.
Subtract other bends, tees and extension pieces from the maximum
length using the following values:
■ Balanced flue bends 45º: 0.5 m
■ Balanced flue bends 87º: 1 m
■ Balanced flue inspection tee: 1.5 m
2.4 Plastic (PPs) balanced flue system for routing through a lightweight shaft
A space saving shaft for reduced temperature requirements may be
retrofitted if the Vitoladens is installed in the living space with one or
more full storeys above and there is no shaft available.
The shaft used must comply with the requirements for domestic chim-
neys to DIN V 18160-1 or must be generally approved by the building
inspectorate.
