2.5 General installation instructions
H Provide a trap door in the roof near the
collectors to facilitate inspection and
maintenance work.
H When there is a relatively large distance
between the collector array and the roof
ridge, install a snow catcher above the
collector array in regions where heavy
snowfall is expected.
H The connection from the collectors can
be run under the roof through
ventilation tiles (see drawing and table
below).
H Fill solar heating systems only with
ViessmannTyfocor−G−LS process
medium; never use mixtures of
different media.
H Protect the connection cable and sensor
leads against attack by birds and
animals.
H Earthing and lightning protection of the
solar heating system
Make an electrically conductive
connection between the pipework of the
solar circuit in the lower part of the
building in accordance with I.E.E.
regulations.
Connection of the collector system to a
new or existing lightning protection
facility or the provision of local earthing
must only be carried out by authorised
personnel, who must take into account
the site conditions.

Please note the following when ordering:
H KS base plate, stating colour and type
of tile
H Uplate made from zinc−plated steel,
KS80630
H Retaining screws with gaskets
(min. 4.5 x 80 mm), two each for one
channel plate matching the base plate.
To achieve proper fixing and avoid
damaging the layers beneath the
battens/covering, check the site
conditions and, if necessary, seek the
advice of Messrs. Klöber.
