6.11 Specific charger-related safety instructions
6.11.1 General information
WARNING
Fire hazard!
The use of battery chargers in a flammable environment or near open
flames may result in a fire.
► Do not operate the battery charger on easily flammable surfaces
(e.g. paper, textiles) or in a flammable environment.
• Check the cable and plug before using the battery charger.
• Wipe with a dry clean cloth.
• Do not use the cable for carrying or suspending the machine. Do not
pull the cable in order to pull the plug out of the receptacle.
• Do not use the battery charger if damage has been found. Do not
open the battery charger yourself, but rather only have it repaired by
qualified technically trained personnel who are using original spare
parts.
• Only charge permitted original rechargeable battery from the manu-
facturer.
• Once the charge cycle is completed, disconnect the rechargeable
battery from the charger.
• Keep battery charger away from children.
• Dispose of battery charger properly.
6.11.2 External influences
• Avoid penetration of water into the battery charger.
• Only use the battery charger indoors and keep away from rain and
moisture.
• If it is not possible to avoid working in a damp environment, a fault
current protective switch must be used.
• Do not subject the battery charger to mechanical shocks.
• Protect the connection cable from any aggressive media (e.g. oil),
sharp edges or moving machine parts.
• Do not operate the battery charger in freezing temperatures, see
Technical data on page 59.
• The battery charger may not be exposed to heat (e.g. direct sunlight)
or fire.
