5.23 Lubricating the Articulated Steering Joint
Prerequisites
Grease gun
Machine shut down
When
Every 250 hours of service or every 3 months
l
Procedure
Follow the procedure below to lubricate the articulated steering joint.
1. Clean the fitting caps.
2. Clean the articulated steering joint fittings (a).
3. Lubricate the articulated steering joint fittings with ten strokes from a grease
gun.
4. Lubricate the oscillation bearing (b) until grease flows out of the casting.
5. Re-install the fitting caps.
