Usage Features

Assembly and Adjustment: The device requires assembly upon receipt, including unfolding, installing color plates, arm rests, seat cushion, and battery. Adjustments can be made to fit the user's seating needs, such as:

  • Space between arm rests: "Standard" (inside width 430 mm) and "Wide" (inside width 480 mm) settings are available.
  • Height of arm rest: Adjustable in 3 stages.
  • Position of controller: Can be installed on either the left or right arm.
  • Unfolding: Involves pulling the seat frame pipe upwards, pressing a lock release button, lowering the seat pipe until a click is heard, and tilting the back support backward.

Charging the Battery: The battery can be charged either while installed in the device or removed.

  • Procedure: Connect the charger and AC connector cord, plug into a wall outlet (100-240 V, 50-60 Hz). The charger indicator flashes green during charging and turns solid green when complete.
  • Battery LED: Indicates charge level (green for full, orange for 30%-full, red for 30% or less, purple for no charge).
  • Safety: Do not charge outdoors, avoid extension cords, and disconnect the DC connector after charging.

Operating Procedures:

  • Getting In: Ensure the device is on a flat, level surface, power is off, brakes are locked, and the footrest is raised.
  • Lap Belt: If equipped, fasten the lap belt and adjust its length.
  • Turning On: Press the power button. The display shows the WHILL logo, then current speed setting, then battery charge level (0-100).
  • Speed Control: Maximum speed is adjustable in 4 stages (1-4) using "+" and "-" buttons. Joystick inclination also controls acceleration/deceleration.
  • Driving: Move the joystick forward, backward, left, or right. Releasing the joystick automatically applies brakes.
  • Road Conditions: Designed for paved roads and indoors. Can handle gravel, light snow, and grass. Cannot be driven on escalators, stairs, steps higher than 1.4 inches (35 mm), slopes with a gradient of 10° or more, or soft/snowy/frozen surfaces.
  • Brake Release: For manual movement, push down both brake release levers under the seat. Re-engage by raising the levers.

Folding Procedure:

  • Folding: Tilt the back support forward, fix the device by supporting the foot pedal, press the lock release button, pull the seat pipe upwards, then close the device until a click is heard.
  • Unfolding: Reverse of the folding procedure.

Storage and Transport Methods:

  • Storage: Store indoors or covered, away from flames, between -15°C and 40°C (5°F and 104°F). Remove and fully charge the battery if storing for a month or longer.
  • Transporting: Hold designated handles. When transporting folded, roll by holding arm rests. To change direction, raise the stand wheel and tilt the device onto anti-tip rollers.
  • Loading into a Trunk: Remove the battery, fold the device, then lift by the seat pipe handle and battery frame.
  • Removing Arm Rest with Controller for Transportation: The arm rest with controller can be removed for easier transport, especially for air travel. It weighs 950g and is 39.6cm long.

Smartphone App:

  • Compatibility: iOS 13.0 or later (Apple Inc.) or Android OS 7.0 or later (Google LLC).
  • Functions: Configure device settings, remote control (attendant control), lock/unlock the device.

Maintenance Features

User Maintenance:

  • Wheel Inspection: Check treads for wear (replace if less than 1/64 inches/0.5 mm). Inspect for deformation or cracking.
  • Rear Wheel Air Pressure: Maintain 40 PSI. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the groove of the rear wheel cover to access the valve.
  • Seat Assembly: Check for rips or excessive sagging.
  • Controller: Ensure joystick moves smoothly, switches and display are functional, and horn button works.
  • Battery: Fully charge before storing for long periods (at least once a month).

Repair, Maintenance, and Parts Replacement:

  • Contact your dealer or customer support for any adjustments, repairs, or modifications not listed in the manual.
  • Replace anti-tip rollers and foot pedal if deformed.
  • Contact dealer if components become worn or require replacement.

Troubleshooting: The device display shows error codes for certain issues. The manual provides explanations for common error codes, their causes, and resolutions, such as:

  • Error 01: Controller operated while folded. Resolution: Unlock device, power on again.
  • Error 02: Joystick not in neutral position at power-on. Resolution: Power on without touching joystick.
