latest edition of IEE wiring regula-
tions).
In order to preserve protection
against moisture entry and to en-
sure a firm gland grip the mains
cable must have an sufficiently lar-
ge outside diameter.
Heat-resisting cable must be used
if the pump is installed in systems
with water temperatures above
90 °C.
Cable leads to be routed in such a
way to avoid any contact with
pipe work and/or pump or stator
housings.
Check available power supply and
voltage.
Observe pump name plate data
Effect all power and control wiring
to SK 602/622 according to
Wiring Diagrams (Figs. 3a to 3e;
see also 1.2.2 and 4.1):
3a: 1~230/240 V, non-overloading
3b: 3~400/415 V, non-overloading
3c: 1~230/240 V with WSK
3d: 3~400/415 V with WSK
3e: when using C-SK plug-in trip
relay refer to diagram 3e in lieu
of 3d
Observe earthing regulations.
When using other starter/contac-
tor arrangements it is necessary
to connect terminals 15 and 10
(WSK) into the control circuit
(max. 250 V) in conjunction with a
restart locking devive. The pump
is then protected at all speed set-
tings.
When using external
thermal overload protection the
pump is protected ONLY AT ONE
of the four speed settings.
Thermal overloads must be set to
suit FLC value of the selected
speed setting (note name plate
data).
When used in conjunction with
automatic control gear pay atten-
tion to unit-respective operating
instructions.
6. Commissioning
6.1 System filling and venting
Ensure that the pipe system is pro-
perly filled. Venting of the pump is
automatic after a short operational
period. Short-term dry-running will
not harm the pump. If necessary,
the pump can be directly vented in
accordance with the following pro-
cedure (Fig. 4):
Switch-off pump,
Close discharge isolating valve,
Remove central plastic cover plug
at end of motor housing,
Carefully slacken and remove the
vent plug using a size 5 screw-
driver,
