Diagnostic function
Via various diagnostic functions, the hybrid motor
starter is able to identify and signal a range of errors,
such as overcurrent, asymmetry, phase failure or self-
test errors.
ɴ A self-test is carried out before each power-on
process. If a problem is detected, the device does not
power on and instead displays the message “Error
during self-test”. Errors can be caused by defects in
the power electronics or insulation faults in periph-
eral equipment. An “Error during self-test” cannot be
acknowledged and is stored internally in the device.
In case of repetition of the “Error during self-test”,
the device cannot be put into operation again — it
must be replaced (safety precaution).
ɴ If an error is detected, the device immediately
switches to a safe, shutdown state.
ɴ To exit the safe, shutdown state, the corresponding
error acknowledgement is required.
Error acknowledgement
Three different options are available for error acknowl-
edgement.
Manual (set / reset button)
Press the set / reset button on the front of the device.
If the set / reset button is still being pressed after approx.
2s, the hybrid motor starter adopts an error state again. If
the acknowledgement request (actuated set/reset but-
ton) is active for more than 6s, an advanced test is con-
ducted for the power output module and then a switch
performed to the „Parameterization“ operating mode.
