DP226 Operators Manual Page 51
Before pressing ‘ENTER’, check that the write-protect switch on the card is not
switched on)
Clone data will now have been copied onto the card.
Warning 1: that the write protect switch must be turned on
again prior to removing the card. If it is not, possible data
corruption may occur, resulting in the DP226 not accepting the
settings again.
Warning 2: All settings in the destination unit (the unit to become the clone) will be
overwritten! If this is not acceptable, it might be advisable to create a clone card as
described above for the unit, and keep it as a back-up.
To copy this data to another unit (make the clone):
Insert the card into the unit which will become the clone.
Press ‘MENU’ and then, using the ‘BACK’, ‘NEXT’ and, ‘ENTER keys, select the
‘System Sub-menu’, followed by the ‘Unit Cloning’ option.
Select ‘Recall Clone Data’ from this menu.
The unit will now be identical to the original, having copied all the clone data from the
card.
Can ordinary microphone cables be used for RS485 connections?
Yes. RS485 is a very robust electrical communication specification, operating point to
point over distances up to 1km. As the system only requires a balanced pair of
interconnects with a screen, normal male to female XLR leads are fine. In fact, as
long as individual pairs are screened, a feed in a multicore may be used.
