Figure 3-13 shows possible terminal server (DTE) connections to a terminal (DTE) and a
modem (DCE) using an Octopus cable with male DB-25 connectors installed in a distribution
panel (section 3.3.4).

3.3.4 Distribution Panels (16-Port, DB-25)
A 16-port distribution panel with two 1.83 m (6 ft) Octopus cables (Male DB-25 connectors)
installed is available (Figure 3-14). Alternately, a blank distribution panel and hardware kit
(not shown) can be ordered that accepts 2 Octopus cables with male or female connectors. These
distribution panels are most commonly used as a distribution point for terminal connections.
