Maintenance Procedures Every 8 Hours or Daily
WARNING
DO NOT operate a lift truck that needs repairs. If a
repair is necessary, attach a DO NOT OPERATE
tag to the control handle and disconnect the
battery.
Inspect the lift truck every 8 hours or daily before use.
Put the lift truck on a level surface. Lower the carriage
and forks, and turn the key switch to OFF. If repair is
required, attach a DO NOT OPERATE tag to the
control handle and disconnect the battery. DO NOT
operate a lift truck until the problems are corrected.
CHECKS WITH KEY SWITCH TURNED
OFF
Make the following checks:
•
Electrolyte and specifici gravity of the battery.
•
Make sure the battery is clean and the correct
size and weight for the lift truck.
•
Check that the battery restraint plates are in
place.
•
Leaks in the hydraulic system.
•
Condition of the casters, load wheels, drive tire,
and frame.
