Cell, Battery, and Battery Pack Voltage
VOLTAGES
Battery packs are composed of batteries, and each
battery is composed of cells. Each lead-acid cell has
minimum voltage per cell (vpc) of 1.75 volts.
One 6 Vdc battery consisting of three cells has a mini-
mum voltage of 5.25 Vdc (1.75 Vdc X 3 cells = 5.25
Vdc).
A 24 Vdc battery pack, consisting of four 6 Vdc batter-
ies, has a minimum voltage of 21 Vdc under a load
(12 cells X 1.75 Vdc / cell = 21 Vdc).
