  If the VSTi to be controlled doesn't change when you select another track in Cubase, ensure that in the Preferences dialog ([Editing]-[Project & Mixer]), both “Sync Project and Mixer Selection” and “Enable Record on Selected Track” are checked. Also, in the Remote Device Setup window, select “Yamaha MOX6/MOX8” and choose Port 2 for the MOX6/MOX8 as the MIDI Input/Output. Finally, verify that the MOX6/MOX8 instrument is set to Remote mode.

Why aren't the set parameters controlled on DAW software other than Cubase with my Yamaha MOX6 Synthesizer?

  Remote control functions are exclusively for Cubase. For other DAW software, set the Remote/CC buttons to “CC.” Also, ensure that you select a parameter other than “Cubase” on the Daw Select display of the Utility mode on your MOX6/MOX8 instrument.

  If turning the knobs on your MOX6/MOX8 affects unintended remote parameters, remove the checkmarks of “ALL MIDI Inputs” corresponding to MIDI Ports 2 and 5 for the MOX6/MOX8 instrument within Cubase.

  If the Control Template on your MOX6/MOX8 doesn't change when you change the VSTi in Cubase, first ensure that the latest MOX6/MOX8 Extension is installed. Also, verify that the VSTi name displayed in Cubase matches the one shown in the VSTi Select/Input box.

  If the appropriate Control Parameters are not shown when you click the triangular button, ensure that the VSTi is correctly selected in the VSTi Select/Input box. If you've entered the VSTi name directly, check the spelling and spacing. It's recommended to select the VSTi using the triangular button.
