1.2 Checking Ethernet Cables
The use of incorrect Ethernet cables may impede appropriate connection with MPE720 and message
communication. For Ethernet cables, use the twisted-pair cables with RJ-45 connectors shown below.
* 1. Machine Controllers MP2300S, MP2400 and MP2310 incorporate a built-in Ethernet Module.
* 2. Some devices such as switching hubs available in the market support the automatic MDI/MDI-X function that
enables use of either straight or cross-over cables.
1.3 Checking Ethernet Communication Modes
The table below shows the communication modes of the remote device (the hub or the controller of another
manufacturer that is connected directly to the Machine Controller) in which communication is possible.
* 1. Machine Controllers MP2300S, MP2400 and MP2310 incorporate a built-in Ethernet Module.
* 2. The auto-negotiation function automatically detects the Ethernet communication mode (communication speed,
half-/full-duplex).
