3.5 Other Trouble during Message Communication
If the trouble cannot be resolved with the remedies given in 3.2 Checking Switch Settings to 3.4 Communication Bro-
ken off during Message Communication, perform troubleshooting using the remedies given in the table below.

In a configuration where
the remote station is the
master station and the
local station is the slave
station, the remote station
cannot write to the regis-
ters of the Machine Con-
troller at certain addresses.
There are setting errors of the following
parameters of the MSG-RCV function.
• PARAM12 (Writable address lower
limit)
• PARAM13 (Writable address upper
limit)
Review the settings of the parameters of the
MSG-RCV function to the left.
For the details of the parameters, refer to
Appendix G MSG-SND/MSG-RCV Functions
of Machine Controller MP2310 Basic Module
User’s Manual (manual No.: SIEP C880732
01).
In a configuration where
the local station is the
master station and the
remote station is the slave
station, the Machine Con-
troller cannot read or write
from/to the registers of the
remote station at certain
addresses.
An attempt has been made to access the
special registers or the memory protected
registers of the remote station.
Check the specifications of the device to be
used as the remote station.
The addresses of the regis-
ters to be read/written
from the local station to
the remote station and
those of the registers to be
read/written from the
remote station to the local
station are inconsistent.
There are setting errors of the following
parameters of the MSG-SND/MSG-RCV
function.
• PARAM08 (coil offset)
• PARAM09 (input relay offset)
• PARAM10 (input register offset)
• PARAM11 (holding register offset)
Review the settings of the parameters of the
MSG-SND/MSG-RCV function to the left.
For the details of the parameters, refer to
Appendix G MSG-SND/MSG-RCV Functions
of Machine Controller MP2310 Basic Module
User’s Manual (manual No.: SIEP C880732
01).

I/O message communica-
tion does not start.
There is no slave setting (message receive
settings and creation of the commands) at
the remote station.
Make the necessary slave settings (message
receive settings and creation of the commands)
at the remote station.
(I/O message communication enables execu-
tion of the message transmission function with-
out a ladder program and it occupies two
connections to perform reading and writing of
registers. For this reason, receive settings (mes-
sage receive settings and creation of the com-
mands) for two connections are required at the
remote station.)
