2.3 Checking the IP Address of the Computer
The procedure for checking the network settings of the computer (IP address, etc.) and the remedies are given
below.
1. Open the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box on the computer.
a)
For Windows 2000
Select Start - Settings - Control Panel - Network and Dial-up Connections - Local Area Connection - Prop-
erties.
b)
For Windows XP
Select Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - Local Area Connection - Properties.
2. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list and press the Properties button.
3. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, select the Use the following IP address
option and enter the setting values in the IP address and Subnet mask fields as necessary.
If you have changed the settings, continue to step 4.
If you have not changed the settings, press the OK button to complete the checking of the IP address
of the computer.
