4) CAPACITOR CHARGE
Alarm 0xFF3C = 60 Group #0 [M,S]:
- Cause: This alarm occurs at key-on in case the DC-link (capacitors)
voltage does not reach a minimum value of 14 V within 3.2 s.
STATUS#5 supplies the real time value of the battery link (+B) in
its short duration instance.
- Remedy: a) if this alarm is only reported in the steering controller, check the
continuity of cables to CNA#3-4-5 from the battery to the
E-steering motor controller.
b) if the cables to CNA #3-4-5 are OK, measure the voltage
between CNA#3-4-5 and B- within 3 s after key-on. Only in case
the voltage measured is higher than 14 V replace the controller.
c) In case the voltage measured between CNA#3-4-5 and B- is
close to 0 V, there are two possibilities:
1. Short circuit on the DC-link and B- inside the E-steering
motor controller (disconnect CNA#3-4-5 and measure the
voltage in the traction controller DC-link (B+ to B- posts).
Replace the E-steering motor controller in case DC-link
voltage of the traction controller goes higher than 14 V.
2. Short circuit on the DC-link and B- on another unit in the
truck.
5) S.P OUT OF RANGE
Alarm 0xFFF8 = 248 Group #2 [M,S]:
- Cause: This alarm occurs when the displacement between actual and
expected conditions of the sensor at the steering handle is wider
than a threshold (16 subsequent samples picked up with a
sampling delay of 4 ms). This threshold is a displacement of ±5.5%
of duty cycle when the speed of the steering handle is null; linearly
increasing up to 11% when the speed of the steering handle is
5 rev/s. In case it gets higher than 250 mV (or 400 mV) or lower
than -250 mV (or 400 mV) this alarm occurs. Diagnosis is split into
4 quadrants (0° to 90°, 90° to 180°, 180° to 270°, 270° to 360°).
- Remedy: Check the connections of the sensor at the steering handle
(CNA#20 and CNA#17). Check for noise or interference on the
sensor.
