I/O Hardware
The I/O on the Isaac have the ability to be active high or active low (sourcing or sinking)
The supply voltage also can be selected between Internal and External. Selection is made on
the I/O with jumpers.
By selecting External supply, +24VDC and GND must be supplied to the I/O, this will be the
voltage supplied when outputs are active. With the selection of Internal, when an output is
active, the output pin will have +24VDC with respect to the GND pins. The factory default is
active high, external supply.
The I/O was designed to connect to a PLC. If outputs are wired directly to mechanical relays, a
diode should be placed across the connections as show below. This fly-back diode will protect
the I/O from damage caused by a large voltage increase as the coil de-energizes.
