Access Point Mode
5.1 Overview
In Access Point (AP) mode your WRE6505 v2 bridges a wired network (LAN) and wireless LAN
(WLAN) in the same subnet. See the figure below for an example.

Note: See Chapter 7 on page 38 for an example of setting up a wireless network in
Access Point mode.
5.2 What You Can Do
•Use the Status screen (Section 5.4 on page 28) to view read-only information about your
WRE6505 v2.
•Use the LAN screen (Chapter 10 on page 66) to set the IP address for your WRE6505 v2 acting
as an access point.
•Use the Wireless LAN screens (Section 9.10 on page 62) to configure the wireless settings and
wireless security between the wireless clients and the WRE6505 v2.
