7.8 Cha nne l Sta tus Se tting s
Use the Cha nne l Sta tus screen to scan WiFi channel noises and view the results. Click Ne two rk Se tting >
Wire le ss > C ha nne l Sta tus. The screen appears as shown. Click Sc a n to scan the WiFi channels. You can
view the results in the Cha nne l Sc a n Re sult section.
802.11 Mode For 2.4 GHz frequency WiFi devices:
•Select 802.11b O nly to allow only IEEE 802.11b compliant WiFi devices to associate with the
WX Device.
•Select 802.11g O nly to allow only IEEE 802.11g compliant WiFi devices to associate with the
WX Device.
•Select 802.11n O nly to allow only IEEE 802.11n compliant WiFi devices to associate with the
WX Device.
•Select 802.11b / g Mixe d to allow either IEEE 802.11b or IEEE 802.11g compliant WiFi devices
to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of your WX Device might be
reduced.
•Select 802.11b / g / n Mixe d to allow IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g or IEEE 802.11n compliant WiFi
devices to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of your WX Device might be
reduced.
•Select 802.11b / g / n/ a x Mixe d to allow IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n or IEEE
802.11ax compliant WiFi devices to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of
your WX Device might be reduced.
For 5 GHz frequency WiFi devices:
•Select 802.11a O nly to allow only IEEE 802.11a compliant WiFi devices to associate with the
WX Device.
•Select 802.11n O nly to allow only IEEE 802.11n compliant WiFi devices to associate with the
WX Device.
•Select 802.11a c O nly to allow only IEEE 802.11ac compliant WiFi devices to associate with
the WX Device.
•Select 802.11a / n Mixe d to allow either IEEE 802.11a or IEEE 802.11n compliant WiFi devices
to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of your WX Device might be
reduced.
•Select 802.11n/ a c Mixe d to allow either IEEE 802.11n or IEEE 802.11ac compliant WiFi
devices to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of your WX Device might be
reduced.
•Select 802.11a / n/ a c Mixe d to allow IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11n or IEEE 802.11ac compliant
WiFi devices to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of your WX Device might
be reduced.
•Select 802.11a / n/ a c / ax Mixe d to allow IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11ac or IEEE
802.11ax compliant WiFi devices to associate with the WX Device. The transmission rate of
your WX Device might be reduced.

Management
Frames
This option is only available when using WPA2- PSK as the Se c urity Mo de and AES Encryption in
Ne two rk Se tting > Wire le ss > G e ne ra l. Management frame protection (MFP) helps prevent
wireless DoS attacks.
Select Disa b le if you do not want to use MFP.
Select C a pa b le to encrypt management frames of wireless clients that support MFP. Clients
that do not support MFP will still be allowed to join the wireless network, but remain
unprotected.
Select Re q uire d to allow only clients that support MFP to join the wireless network.
Cancel Click Ca nc e l to restore the default or previously saved settings.
Apply Click Apply to save your changes.
