6.3.1.9 Setting of the beam diameter to calculate the density of energy
The NUVOLAS offers the possibility to calculate the specific density of energy according
to the used accessories. This parameter, similar to the mean power Ø P and the
cumulated energy Σ E, can be displayed optinally for documentation reasons.
To calculate the correct values, the beam diameter which is defined by the accessory has
to be selected or added. For that, just tap on the diameter shown. The values can be
chosen by directly tapping on them. Alternatively, you can include the beam diameter by
using the input field.
The following table provides information about the beam diameter for the accessories
used with the NUVOLAS:

*Please note that the beam diameter for fibers and probes is only valid when using the applicator
in contact. If you use the applicator in non-contact the beam diameter will increase due to the
aperture angle of the fiber and the density of energy decreases.
**The beam diameter of the focus hand piece is only valid when the spacer of the hand pieces are
in contact with tissue or if the therapy hand piece silver is used with a distance of 1-5 cm.
