5.4.4.7 Viewing the identification parameters
The installer enters the sequence - * 5 - ("Prog"*5) to enter the display menu; the menu's
first parameter "Phone version" is displayed.
5.4.4.8 To start for the first time or to restart
When starting for the first time, or when restarting after unplugging, if the i740N set has not
transmitted its number and password, a system identification phase is started:
• directory number entry prompt, then password entry prompt.

This phase has a time limit (about 20 s) as a "general purpose" ID is used, while waiting for the
subscriber's actual ID.
To restart identification, the subscriber must unplug and restart the set (or enter the PROG **
sequence), then:
• either enters the set's number/password
• or waits for the system identification phase: entry prompt + password prompt (limited to about
20s).
When the set changes to "general purpose" mode (after the 20 s timeout), information sent by the
"Subscriber **** " type PBX is displayed, indicating that the set is not logged.
This differentiates a "general purpose" set from a "logged" set, which displays the date and time.
